An Important Announcement: It is with great sadness that I have to announce the end of an era at the Beano Kru Website. The governers of the website feel the current format no longer reflects the interests and concerns of the members of the Kru. The committee therefore make the following recommendations: - The committee feel the content of the site as it stands, is outdated and even inapproapriate within the current global climate. As the members mature rapidly they have grown out of immature name calling and concepts such as 'C-Bass' which merely reinforce the social polarisation which exists in today's society. - More emphasis should be placed on highbrow political discussion, the arts and other current affairs both at home and abroad. Themes should have snappy titles such as Arts World, Politics World, Literature World but not in a tacky way like Disney World. - Attainable targets such as a 140% cut in toilet humour have been set and words such as poo, cock, willy, cottaging (unless talking about George Michael) and knickers should no longer be used. - And finally the committee has recommended the firing of the current editor. The new editor should be literate, have good grammar and aim for a broadsheet style of journalism, skills the present one lacks. The new website should be an educational and stimulating experience for all those who visit and under no circumstances make people laugh! |
